The United States reduces the validity of the tourist visa for Cuban citizens

The United States will reduce, from March 18th, the validity of B2 Visa for Cubans to three months with a ticket, announced Friday the American Embbady in Havana in a statement.

Prior to the change, the United States granted the Cubans a multiple entry visa, with a validity of 60 months, at a cost of $ 160, said the headquarters of diplomats, a treatment that it is not reciprocal on the part of the Cuban government.

Cuba, on the other hand, "grants US tourists an entry visa for a two-month stay, renewable for an additional 30 days for a total of three months, for a fee of $ 50"explains the note.

The State Department has reduced the validity of B2 visa "equalize the lower validity granted by the Government of Cuba to US citizens belonging to similar categories", concludes.

The category of B2 Visa applies to the trip tourism, family visits, medical treatment and for similar purposes.

The Embbady says that "No other category of visa for Cuban nationals can be changed."
