Voldemort was all the rage on social media this weekend. And not because something controversial Harry Potter author HK Rowling said was done viral but because a large number of citizens claimed to have seen the image of the cursed character from his saga in the sky of Istanbul, Turkey.

The news soon spread around the world. Harry Potter fans and other citizens surprised by the drawing in the clouds shared the image. Even Hava Forum specializing in weather news quickly shared the image. “This cloud, which was shown in Istanbul this evening, drew attention,” the account manager wrote.
“An evening with some weather action in Istanbul,” the experts said on their website. “A cloud resembling the silhouette of Voldemort was spotted in Istanbul on Saturday, September 18. These recorded images quickly spread from the social media accounts of Weather Forum and they became the theme of the night. Such formations can occur as a result of this natural phenomenon called convective inhibition, ”they said.
