The world of art in Chaco is played: the 2018 International Sculpture Biennial begins

Celebrating 30 years of sculptural competitions in the Chaco, this year the chosen sculptors are those who have won first prize at previous biennials.

Raúl "Pájaro" Gómez (Argentina), winner of the 1998 Biennial; Leon Saavedra Geuer (Bolivia), winner of the 2002 Biennial; Piotr Twardowski (Poland), winner of the 2006 Biennial; Tobel (Germany), winner of the 2010 Biennial; Fernando Pinto (Colombia), winner of the 2012 Biennale; Thierry Ferreira (France), laureate of the Biennale 2014 and Qian Sihua (China), laureate of the 2016 Biennale, will be the protagonists of this contest.

The jury will be integrated by: Ramón Morales Rossi (Venezuela); Juan Bordes (Spain) and Jorge de Santiago López (Mexico). In this opportunity, participants will have to create a work inspired by the theme "Identity in motion".

First Day

This Saturday, the day will be full of activities in the premises of the Biennial. The Fair of Crafts, Design, Indigenous Peoples, Industry and Commerce and the Meeting of Master Craftsmen will start respectively at 10h and 11h30.

There will also be courses in Latin rhythms, choreographic performances, artistic interventions with acrobatics and fire, theater for teenagers, among other activities.

The first day will end with the show "Between Clásico y Contemporáneo". At the age of 21, he will be in the Centennial Dome "Zitto Segovia" and will learn the different languages ​​of dance. He will be responsible for the ballet studio of María and Erica Ferrazano

Other activities

Regarding the parallel activities, the agenda of the activities will be formed, first with the prestigious meeting of Argentinean and Latin-American sculptors. At this meeting, artists will develop their work with a wide range of techniques and materials. Those summoned are: Nadia Guthmann, María Guallar, Norma Siguelboim, Ramón Morales Rossi, Diego Santurio, Damián Sondereguer, Raúl Collemi, Mauro Musante, Quique Gurevich, Alejandro Arce, Gabriela Farías Nicchi and Adriana Pantbadli

. this will be the seventh edition of the "Hierros Líder" Challenge Prize, where artistic students will have to work outdoors in 48 hours.

The National Academy of Fine Arts will meet at Resistencia and its members will be at the Biennale to complete two days of activities, among which a plenary session is scheduled to deliberate on the phenomenon of Resistance sculptures .

The Faculty of Arts, Design and Science of Culture of the National University of Northeast, belonging to the Art Network of the University of Argentina and the Network University of the Arts in the world, will also organize the II International Congress of Art

For the first time, Marta Minujín will visit the Chaco. On July 19, at 7 pm, at the Centennial Dome, the eminent pop artist will present a lecture on "Ephemeral Art and Mbad Participation," with Commissioner Daniel Fisher

Theater, Music and Dance of international level will take place on the stage of the Biennial. Organized by the Pradier Foundation – Cultural Networks with the support of the Embbady of the United States in Argentina and the Renault Foundation, the Philharmonic Youth Festival will propose "The experience of the art and of the music among all ".

Gala at the Centennial Dome with the premiere of Carmina Burana. The Chaco Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Jorge Doumont, with seven choral groups from Resistencia and Corrientes, will perform the famous scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff.
