The young man who killed a woman and her baby and is loved by millions of girls

It all started in 2018, when 18-year-old Cameron Herrin drove a Ford Mustang that his parents had just given him on the occasion of his graduation from high school.

Decided to dive against a friend. Madness and misfortune. As the machines came in at lightning speed, Herrin crushed Jessica Raubenolt, 24, and her daughter Lillia, 21 months, as they crossed a street in Tampa, Florida. Both are deceased shortly thereafter in a hospital.

After a nearly three-year trial, delayed by the pandemic, Herrin was sentenced in April to 24 years in prison, compared to the maximum sentence of 30 that the victims’ family requested.

Herrin couldn’t believe it. He was convinced that he would be released and counted on the overwhelming support of hundreds of girls in the networks that demanded his immediate freedom.

A sick fame

This hysterical fame emerged in July 2021, when TikTok user lilbad09 posted images of her in the courtroom which she accompanied with the phrase, “Opportunities must be given. And he deserves it“.

The video has already been viewed 22 million times and brings together more than 85,000 comments, most of which relate to physical attraction of the young man and are in favor of a reduction of the sentence, while others recall that, although he is “very handsome”, he killed two people in an illegal act and must suffer the consequences.

Gradually, more publications on the young man have emerged with the hashtag cameronherrin than they have already been viewed over a billion times. And not only in TIC Tac, the popularity of the young man has spread to other social networks like Instagram Yes Twitter.

Some are already saying that Cameron Herrin’s fame could be a case of hibristofilie (the attraction for those who commit crimes). As was the case with Ted Bundy, who despite murdering dozens of women had a legion of admirers.

Either way, Harrin is serving his sentence in Florida State Prison, where will remain until 2045.
