There are already more than 8 million signatures claiming to defend the Amazon

Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru lead the countries of origin of the companies which, on the Change.org portal, claim to save the Amazon through various requests to promoting the protection of the environment and biodiversity in this region, which has been under fire for two weeks, said Gastón Wright, director of Change Argentina and Cono Sur.

Between the demand of Latin America (without Brazil), which has more than three million signatures, and that of Brazil, which has already reached five million, eight million members still claim to put an end to fires in the Amazon.

"This petition has the largest number of signatures in the history of Change.org in Latin America since the launch of the platform in 2012," Wright said.

"Also," he warned, "he's about to become the petition asking for more signatures on Change.org on a global scale, that is, the petition with more of signatures since 2007 ".

In Argentina, second country in number of signatures after Brazil and Mexico, the petition "is the first in the traffic for two days and does not decline."

"90% of the traffic is in this application, which means it's the number one priority of platform users at the moment," Wright said.
