Jesse A. Fernández was born in Havana on December 7, 1925, seven years later, his family returned to Spain. They would however return to Cuba after the outbreak of the civil war, leaving for the last ship leaving Santander for America.

For more than three decades, between 1952 and 1986, he practiced what the show calls a "Hispanic Wandering". living in several American and European countries, from his home country to Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, France, Italy or the United States, capturing in all his travels the Hispanic world in people and in the landscape.
