Thus, the first authorization of a space dedicated to the study and research on the medicinal use of cannabis, its derivatives and its unconventional treatments, was granted, in accordance with the law 27,350 sanctioned in 2017 .

Thus, Jujuy will become the first province of the country to legally cultivate cannabis for medical use this year, which will mark "a milestone" and will have a system "safe in terms of prevention", said Gastón Morales.

The pilot project will be based on an area of ​​5 to 15 hectares of the El Pongo farm, located on state land, and will contribute to create "scientific certainty as to the adaptation of the plant to the soil, to the ground. water, air and soil conditions ". climate of the place ".

The harvest will be done in the open field and the seeds will arrive at the end of the month to start the germination process, which is calculated "will last about two months, so that it will be transplanted to the farm from the third", said the contractor.

To advance in production and industrialization, the jujeña company calculates that it will start producing cannabis oil "between August and November this year".

For his part, MPP Alejandra Cejas today filed a complaint with the Jujuy Superior Court of Justice to demand the unconstitutionality of the law creating the cannabis company Avatara SE by claiming that it was not possible for them to do so. "It has drug export purposes for the United States".
