They are looking for descendants of Italians to live in Calabria – World

The need to repopulate small towns is something that has spread everywhere Europe. It is now the domain of Calabria looking for Italian descendants who want to live and work in this place.

The project includes a series of actions ranging from support for the reconstruction of the citizenship, to look for work and accommodation once there.

The first place to receive descendants will be Maida, a small town in the province of Catanzaro, which 4,600 population.

Between 1998 and 2006, 600,000 minutes of Italian nationality by descent: including 40% in Argentina, 20% in Brazil and, in Europe, especially in France (54% of the continent’s total) and in Switzerland (25%).

The project starts in September and will choose 15 candidates who undertake to settle Maida for at least six months. They will have Italian lessons and the local government undertakes to analyze the revalidation of university degrees.

These people will receive employment in the agricultural sector – such as harvesting olives, grapes, among others – or in various fields of tourism.

The project will extend to other regions such as Friuli Venezia Giulia.
