Egyptian police arrested a young man who climbed to the top of the Great Pyramid of Giza and was pursued by agents who threw stones, said the Ministry of Antiquities of that country.

With an entrance, the young Egyptian, who was not publicly identified, went to the pyramid of Cheops and started climbing the blocks to reach the summit, said Ashraf Mohi, general manager of the esplanade of Giza, where they raise the pyramids of Keops, Khafre and Menkaure.

At the top, the young man removed a used wooden structure used to show the original height of the pyramid, Mohi added to an international agency quoted by Telam.

Security forces began to persecute him as it is forbidden to climb these wonders of the world south-west of Cairo, but the young man resisted and, while climbing, threw stones at the police announced the Department of Antiquities. Eventually, they managed to stop the climber and transferred him to the prosecutor's office, Mohi said.

This is not the first time that something similar is happening in this tourist region. Last December, the Egyptian government asked the Attorney General's office to investigate a video posted on social networks in which a couple was seen climbing naked, in the same pyramid, and at their peak, a still image was displayed. from among them simulating a badual posture.

Naked also posed the Belgian supermodel Marisa Papen on the Giza Pyramids esplanade in 2017, which avoided being arrested, but could not stop a few days later at the Karnak Temple in Luxor when she put on her clothes for a new photo shoot.

In 2015, the young German Andrej Ciesielski was arrested and expelled for life from Egypt for climbing to the top of one of the pyramids, an action also broadcast on the internet.
