What happened to a family with their pet was something unusual: cThey laughed that their cat died, they cremated it but a month of it appeared alive in the house.
It was May 19, when Rachel Fitzsimons and her family in the English town of Warrington became concerned that their pet, named Frankie, had run away from their home.
The next day, as he did not return, they began an intense search for Warrington. “We looked for him everywhere and there were a lot of people involved. The weather was horrible so we knew Frankie would come back to us if he could, ”Fitzsimons told the Insider.com portal.
Two days later, the woman and her husband were with their vehicle traveling on a nearby highway when they saw the body of a feline on one side: it was beheaded. “He looked like Frankie. My husband came out, walked along the shoulder and got as close as he could, but he couldn’t confirm, ”he told the same outlet.
The couple drove home and called the road workers for help, “They were very helpful and went out several times to check the body. I gave them a description of Frankie: a fluffy tabby with a white belly. The dead cat matched that, ”Fitzsimons told the Manchester Evening News.
Once the confirmation was received, the English went to look for the body. “We live very close to the freeway, so it seemed likely that this was our cat. We didn’t look at the body because it was too scary “, he told the newspaper.
They later cremated the animal’s remains and placed the urn on their property. “Remy (the couple’s 7-year-old son) used to sleep with Frankie in his bed every night, so he was upset when he disappeared. I’m crying. When we received the ashes, Remy put them next to his bed. Then we all cried for days, ”he revealed.
However, 22 days after the feline’s “death”, something unexpected happened. “My husband heard a meow outside, then I heard him scream. We ran out and there was Frankie. Remy was crying and asking, “Is this real? “It was an incredible moment,” Fitzsimons recalls.
The family had cremated another dead cat, believing it to be their pet.
“He was scruffy and very skinny, but we checked him out at the vet and he’s fine. We have no idea where he was, but we feel very lucky to find him. It’s true what they say about the nine lives, but Frankie doesn’t have a lot left at this rate, ”he joked.
