A 19 year old fisherman was very surprised to catch a fish of prehistoric appearance off the coast of Andoya Island in Norway. The animal has a very peculiar appearance, which led to consider that it could be "a dinosaur".

Oscar Lundahl He loves sports and works as a fishing guide in the North Sea. Although he recognized that he was used to seeing exotic and strange marine species, he never caught anything similar to what he took this afternoon.

The truth is that Oscar was looking for a halibut, an Atlantic species up to 2,000 meters deep. However, the fish that bit the hook was not planned: it had a protruding head with big eyes, a small body and a pointed tail.

"It took me about 30 minutes to get it out of the water as it was 800 meters deep – it was pretty surprising – I had never seen anything like it before. It looked weird, a bit like a dinosaur. ", the young man described in an interview.

The fish is not prehistoric or similar. It's a species called chimera or Fish-rat (Rat fish, in its Spanish translation), referred to sharks and takes its name from the mythological long-tailed animal. He lives in the depths and it is not usual that he is captured.

Unfortunately, when Oscar took the animal out of the water, he did not resist the pressure. The fisherman did not miss the opportunity, took it home and cooked it: "Despite its ugly appearance, it was really delicious".
