Two new schools in the province of Buenos Aires have sounded the alarm for graduate trips to Cancun. To the 44 adolescents who tested positive for the coronavirus when they returned home last week, 55 new cases must be added on Sunday. In addition, they have confirmed that there is two contingents of schools in the city stranded by the growing wave of infections.
“School has nothing to do with travel because it’s something parents organize. “Worry whyAbroad, we do not know what type of care there is. Mexico is known to have a high amount of daily infections and there is no high containment measure. We must try to avoid this kind of travel, ”said infectious disease specialist Eduardo Lopez, in statements to the same television station.
The specialist, who is part of the infectious disease specialist group that advises the government, pointed out that there is no indication whether those infected have introduced new strains into the country.
“We still don’t know if these teenagers brought the new strains. We don’t have the studies. What I can certify is that if there were so many infections at once, it is because ‘it’s clear that no chinstrap was used and there was no respect for social distancing. There was no care for the teenagers and they surely were all together in poorly ventilated places, ”he explained.
An important fact: from February 17 to this Monday, 35 schools went to Cancun via one of the travel agencies in charge of the contingents of graduates abroad: Moon Travel.
