They fell in love during the Second World War and found themselves 75 years later

Kara Troy Robbins, a former soldier, and Jeannine Ganaye met for the first time in a village in the Great East of France, in the border region of Germany. The soldiers were there after landing of Normandy. The young European was one of the many girls in the small town, annoyed by the large number of young soldiers who had arrived in the city.

During these weeks, Kara and Jeannine They had an intense romance. "She was very kind to me," recalled the man, decades later. But his love story was interrupted when the soldier had to leave the city abruptly. "I told him that he might come back with me, but it was not like that," he recalls.

When the young man left on the truck, she cried inconsolably. This is how life led them to opposite places. After the war, the soldier returned to the United States and formed a family.
