The footage was recorded by famous snake hunter Stuart McKenzie at a beach in Point Cartwright, in the town of Buddina.

The protagonist of the short film, which was shared on social networks, is a copy of the eastern brown snake, feared to be highly toxic.

In the images, the reptile is seen swimming with its head up, just a few feet from a group of children playing in the water.

“What a good swimmer was this great friend!” McKenzie wrote alongside the video.

“We got a lot of calls about this snake and I wanted to thank everyone who was there to stay calm, to distance themselves and to keep the dogs away from him,” added the expert.

This species only attacks when threatened. “It’s a matter of common sense. You just need to take a few steps back and nothing will happen,” he recommended.
