They find the narco who wanted to escape dead in his cell

The Brazilian drug trafficker Clauvino da Silva, who disguised himself as a girl last week to try to escape from a jail in the city of Rio de Janeiro, was found dead yesterday in his cell, confirmed official sources.

The detainee, aged 42 and serving a sentence of 73 years and 10 months imprisonment, reportedly was hanged with a leaf, according to preliminary information from the Secretary of State for Prison Service (Seap ), publishes the website of the Spanish newspaper Le pays.

Prison authorities announced in a statement that an investigation would be opened to clarify what had happened at Laércio da Costa Pelegrino maximum security prison, known as Bangu I, in Rio de Janeiro.

Da Silva's escape attempt, known as Baixinho (short film), went around the world this week after the drug dealer tried to escape from prison with clothes for women and a silicone mask. Da Silva took advantage of the visit of his 19-year-old daughter and the complicity, it seems, of a pregnant woman who, exempt from X-ray, presented the disguise that she had tried to flee. Although the man put a silicone mask on his face, glbades, a wig with black hair and a woman's clothes, he was recognized by the prison officers while he was on the verge of to leave the prison. Da Silva was discovered this weekend while he was trying to get out of a West Rio prison disguised with a female silicone mask, a long wig, a pink t-shirt and skinny jeans. The authorities claim that the gang member managed to reach the prison's exit doors, but that his nervousness caught the attention of the guards, who eventually thwarted the escape attempt. The escape attempt was recorded in a video broadcast by the Seap and began to circulate rapidly in social networks with images of the amazing transformation of the human.

He escaped in 2013

Da Silva had already escaped from prison in 2013, along with 30 other prisoners, who had fled from one of the prisons of the same complex through the sewers. Baixinho was, however, arrested a month later when police intervened in a territorial dispute over drug trafficking in the city of Angra dos Reis, also in the state of Rio de Janeiro. According to the authorities, da Silva was part of the dome of Commando Vermelho, one of the most powerful criminal groups in Brazil, which controls much of the drug trade in Rio.
