They found the body of Andrea, the last missing person of the Cattarossi family in Miami

Miami-Dade police confirmed on Thursday afternoon the discovery of five bodies in the rubble after the building fell. Champlain Tours South, in Surfside, Florida. Among them was Andrea, the last remaining member of the Cattarossi family to be found.

“We have identified five other victims who unfortunately and unexpectedly lost their lives in the tragic collapse of the Surfside building. The 56-year-old lived in the town of Pilar in Buenos Aires and had traveled to the United States to visit family members, so he was in the same apartment as them at the time of the collapse.

This Wednesday, the rescuers had recovered the remains of the parents of the two Cattarossi sisters: Graciela Ponce de León, who is also the second aunt of the first lady of Uruguay, Lorena Ponce de León, and Gino Catarossi.

The woman was 82 and She was the mother of photographer Graciela Cattarossi, which a few weeks ago became Argentina’s first recorded death in the Surfside building tragedy.

Their daughter lived with them in Miami with his seven-year-old daughter, Stella, who was also found lifeless under the rubble amid search operations by his own father, who is part of the rescue team who have been working at the site for several days.

Born February 24, 1973, the artist had moved to the United States a few years ago. According to local information, he lived with his daughter in one of the rooms in apartment 501 at Tours Champlain Sud, in a place he also shared with his parents. In this way, all family members have already been identified, who lost their lives in the collapse of the 40-year-old Champlain South Tours building and 136 apartments, 55 of which collapsed.

This Thursday morning, rescuers had found 10 bodies, the toll of the tragedy had therefore risen to 64, according to the mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, while 76 people were still missing. Then the remains of five other victims were found, including Andrea Cattarossi.

Rescue teams take care of personal items found in the rubblesuch as wallets, jewelry and electronics, and families of victims can submit lost property reports for recovery.

Before entering a new phase of work on site, The victims were honored by a minute of silence interrupted by the prayers, sobs and tears of those present. Now, efforts will be focused on attempting to recover the remains of the remaining victims.
