Ahed Tamimi, icon of the Palestinian protests, was released Sunday. With her mother, Nareman, she was imprisoned for slapping and kicking Israeli soldiers, in an act that earned her a symbol of resistance to the Palestinians but turned her into a nuisance for the Israelis.

Tamimi, 17, left the prison in the early hours of Sunday (23 Saturday in Argentina), according to the authorities of Ha Sharon Prison in Israel.

There he served an eight-month sentence after attacking with his cousin Nour two Israeli soldiers who were leaning against a wall in the courtyard of a house in Nabi Saleh, a city in the occupied Palestinian territory for over 50 years. The young women beat the men in uniform and ask them to leave.
