They reveal when the new Chevrolet Onix and Prisma arriving in the country will start being produced

Chevrolet has everything planned to start manufacturing the new generations of its Onix and Prisma models in Brazil, from where they will be imported to Argentina. It will begin in Julyconfirmed Edson Dorneles, director of legal affairs of the Metallurgical Union of Gravataí (Sinmgra), in which they will be produced.

In the neighboring country, they will go on sale during the second half of the year, based on announcements from various media in São Paulo, but it is not confirmed whether Argentina will arrive in 2019 or early 2020.

The new Onix and Prisma will be developed of the Global Emerging Markets (GEM) platform. It is an architecture for emerging markets (Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East), in which will also be born the future Montana, Tracker, Spin and Cobalt.

The wheelbase of both models, even though it is not yet official (they are identical, with the exception of the "long tail" of the Prism and the "short tail" of l & # 39; Onix) will increase by about 7 cm to reach 2.60 meters. This will improve the quality of life of the back.

Around mechanics, among other variants we speak of three cylinder options 1.0 with and without turbo, although for the moment everything is unofficial.

Until now, the filtered units of the Onix in testing phase have shown with the body totally camouflaged. Some Brazilian media were however encouraged to show how their final project could be seen.

And the Prism has appeared in real camouflage-free photos in China, where it is marketed under the name Onix Sedan (it's the tribody version of this model). Although the images correspond to the version that will be sold in China, it is to be expected that some changes in Mercosur.
