Spanish police seized a small unmanned plane carrying illegal drugs from Morocco to southern Spain.

This is a Mugin 450 drone, which has a range of seven hours at 120 kilometers per hour and a value of up to 151 thousand dollars. It is capable of carrying up to 150 kilograms of cargo and has five engines.

“We have never seen such a large drone used for this purpose. There have been precedents, but not like that. It is the largest ever found in Spain, ”said Pedro Luis Bardón, of the Spanish police air force unit.

The drone was discovered in a warehouse inside the city of Malaga, in southern Spain, during a joint investigation by Spanish and French police.

85 kilos of marijuana and hashish were also found, while four people, three in France and one in Spain, were arrested in the operation.

A network of smugglers was then discovered using a fleet of small drones to transport illicit benzodiazepine tablets from Morocco to Ceuta, an autonomous Spanish city on the North African coast.

Police also found seven drones, each with a carrying capacity of between four and 25kg, as well as a cache of drugs and weapons, including an HK assault rifle.
