The deputy director of the West Virginia Emergency Department was suspended after a message that he posted on social networks about the border wall caused outrage.
The media reported that the director of the 911 emergency number in Raleigh County, John Zilinski, said in a statement that the deputy director Mark Wilson was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
Wilson's post on Facebook shows a photo of a man in front of decapitated heads on a wall. The legend says: "Thank Donald Trump for building the wall! Mine would look more like this." The picture shows heads of dark-skinned people of non-European descent.
Trump asked for $ 5.7 billion for the construction of a 375-kilometer (235-mile) steel fence along the US-Mexico border.
Wilson did not respond to a request for comment.
