Maricopa County Attorney's Office Wednesday asked the FBI to investigate the incident in which 11 policemen had been downloaded by police officers from Glendale, Arizona with a taser-type electric gun against a man who filed a federal lawsuit.

County Attorney Bill Montgomery said that after personally reviewing the videos that recorded the event, which occurred in 2017, he had determined that "More research is justified" by an external body, in order to "guarantee the trust" of the community.

Montgomery's statement, which stated Tuesday that there was no reasonable prospect of conviction in the case, was made the same day as Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, asked the county attorney's office to review the initial investigation, which he described as "completely unacceptable".

The incident occurred when the man, Johnny Wheatcroft, sitting in the pbadenger seat and having his wife and two minor children in the back seats, refused to identify with the agent Matt Schneider.

Officers boarded the vehicle for traffic violationsbut the situation quickly led to the incident.

The complaint filed by Wheatcroft in 2018 is for three agents and He alleges that the police used "an illegal, unnecessary, excessive and unreasonable force" and who violated his civil rights.

Following the incident that aired police videos from Glendale on Tuesday, Agent Schneider was suspended for 30 hours of work, especially for using the "táser" pistol with the handcuffs stopped.

An earlier police investigation concluded that the force employed by Schneider "showed a serious lack of judgment" and a "gross fault"but with the exception of the suspension, no other sanction has been taken.

In the videos you can see when Wheatcroft he refuses to identify himself and baderts that he is not obliged to do so when he is sitting in the pbadenger's seat.

Moments later, a fight begins between the subject and one of the agents, who twists his arm, andThen, electric shocks are given, which are repeated even with Wheatcroft handcuffed to the ground.

According to the police, methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle.

Wheatcroft is now incarcerated for a robbery unrelated to the 2017 incident.
