Tonight, the nighttime restriction began in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area (AMBA), as President Alberto Fernández announced on Wednesday. This measure – which dictates that it is not possible to circulate between 8 p.m. and 6 p.m. – caused a stir in society.

One of the sectors that has made their voice heard the most in asserting how much this affects them is the gastronomy sector. Anyway, they followed the rule: at 19 no one could enter, and from 20 the blinds were lowered. So, they started to work only with the options of delivery and of carry, as it was arranged.

In this way, a few minutes before the time when no one could go around, very few people began to be seen on the streets of downtown Buenos Aires, which – later – was deserted, offering a postcard reminiscent of on quarantine days.

Although very few people were waiting to take the buses, where we saw more passengers – in the first few minutes after 8 p.m. – it was at train stations, such as Constitución or Retiro. There, the security forces screen people to confirm that they have a permit to travel (if they do not have one, they can be delayed at a police station, if the duty court orders).
