This is the La Fuerza bar, located in the heart of the Chacarita district in Buenos Aires, designed by four friends in early 2018.

With vermouth as a badge, a Chacarita magazine was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 places to visit in the world. Located at the corner of Dorrego and Castillo, La Fuerza has become "strong" in the gastronomic field and has managed to enter the prestigious list of the American magazine, which includes museums, parks, restaurants and hotels around the world, selected according to their standards of quality, originality, sustainability and innovation.

What is striking is that the story of The Force does not go back to the black and white era, but last summer. On January 9, 2018, he opened his doors in a recycled mansion in 1933 to give a "modern twist to the traditional Argentine aperitif," says the magazine's website.

"When we met for the first time, we said we made a vermouth that reflects ours, which is natural and of high quality. It's been two years of hard work before opening the bar," says journalist Martín Auzmendi. and entrepreneur, who shares the project with his friends Julián Díaz, Agustín Campos and Sebastián Zuccardi.

Thus appeared the vermouth of the Andes, the queen of places, which is generally accompanied by bites of all kinds: fries, milanesa, polenta with meatballs and even fainazzeta, a combination of fainá with fugazzeta.

"The vermouth is made with mountain grape wine, distilled wine alcohol in Mendoza and natural grape must.We have a red varietal, malbec-based, and white, with the character of Torrontés. .Other 40 botanists are used among bark, herbs, seeds and flowers, which is why we say everything is natural. "

They also use sage, elder, gentian, grapefruit and orange peels. The whole process is done in Mendoza, from winemaking to bottling.

The creation of the vermouth was as thorough as the choice of location to install the bar, they explain in an interview with Clarín. "The idea was that it was in a corner, even in a neighborhood, that it was informal, that there was a nice sidewalk, that people could get on foot, to bike or public transport and that it would open every day, "says the site. of the force.

They had it in Chacarita, a neighborhood that retains its identity but is developing as a gastronomic hub at a constant pace.

After hearing about the weather, Martín does not stop answering the phone. Between congratulations and journalistic investigations, answer the calls almost online. But there is one question that you can not answer. He does not know. How has a neighborhood bar with less than two years of customer service been recognized by an international magazine?

"It's a mystery, we do not know who the person was on the list, we recently received an email informing us that we were pre-screened, but that surprised us. came immediately, then neighbors the city and now there are also a lot of tourists ", reply

Auzmendi explains why they chose the name La Fuerza: "The culture of snacks is linked to immigration.Vermouth was born in Turin, Italy, and touched the world. we wanted to emphasize the strength of the immigrants, the same strength that we put to this project. "
