This Wednesday 160,290 doses will arrive in the country of the vaccine against the coronavirus produced by the laboratory Pfizer and BioNTech. With this arrival, Argentina will reach the 63,410,020 doses received.
The vaccines will arrive at Ezeiza International Airport in the flight AA991 American Airlines, scheduled to land on the 16th.
The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, said the country will receive “during the month of September 580,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine”, which according to the strategic plans of each district “They are used to initiate vaccination programs targeting 17 year olds”, as in the case of the Province of Buenos Aires, “or for complete vaccination schedules with AstraZeneca ”, as happens in CABA.
At a press conference, Vizzotti also confirmed “the delivery during the first two weeks of October of 1.6 million doses of Pfizer per week, which will allow a rapid and priority vaccination scale between 12 and 17 years old in the coming months ”.
The new shipment from Pfizer is in addition to the two shipments of 1,536,000 and 1,336,000 doses from the Sinopharm laboratory which arrived on Saturday and Monday respectively. With these arrivals, Argentina will reach 63,410,020 vaccines this Wednesday to immunize the population.
Of the total, there are 17,180,320 doses of Sputnik V: 10,955,280 of component 1 (of which 1,179,625 were produced by Richmond) and 6,225,040 of component 2 (1,765,875 developed by the Argentine laboratory).
From AstraZeneca, the country received 16,124,500 vaccines: 580,000 from Covishield, 1,944,000 from the Covax mechanism, 12,389,500 provided directly by the laboratory, 400,000 donated by Spain and 811,000 by Mexico. Also 25,784,000 from the Sinopharm laboratory, 3,500,000 from Moderna donated by the United States, 400,000 from CanSino and 421,200 from Pfizer.
According to data provided by the Public Vaccination Observatory, as of this morning, 53,586,589 doses have been distributed throughout the country, while the Applications they total 49,394,749: 29,070,378 people received the first dose and 20,324,371 already have two.
