By decree, the government declared on July 18 this year the National Day of Grief in tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack of July 18, 1994 at the headquarters of the Mutual Association Israelita Argentina (AMIA).
In the official document, the executive recalled "the magnitude of such a criminal event" which left in the Argentine society "feelings of repudiation and suffering" for "the irreparable loss of precious and irreplaceable people".
In this sense, as part of his symbolic gestures, President Mauricio Macri ordered that the national flag remains "hoisted halfway up in buildings and public places".
Tomorrow will mark the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attack against AMIA, an open wound that left 85 dead and hundreds wounded.
Tomorrow will be held a national duel and the Argentine flag will be raised at half mast.

In addition, in the recitals of the decree, it was announced that the head of state would make an "outstanding mention" in his speech to the UN National Assembly in September. As stated in the Official Journal, Macri "will reiterate the request for cooperation addressed to the Islamic Republic of Iran to cooperate in the investigation of the facts and the trial of officials with the Argentine judicial authorities".
Group of decrees
The document is part of a series of decrees signed by the president. In one of them, the executive said it would include Hezbollah in a list of terrorist organizations. In another case, compensation for former employees of the Jewish Mutual was not included in the compensation already paid by the State.
Precisely, Tuesday afternoon, the decree signed by Macri set 180 days compensation for victims who, until now, could not benefit from this benefit, regulated in September 2015 by a rule of the Previous administration.
The government explained that there remains "a small group of legitimate victims to actively claim the benefit provided by Law No. 27,139, who have not taken refuge there because the expiration period has expired" and pointed out that currently "some victims in this group have health problems and old age".
"For reasons of equity and justice, it should be ensured that those who have not yet benefited from the extraordinary benefits mentioned can do so without further delay," he concluded.
