According to the provisions of the ANAC, flights up to a distance of 1,000 kilometers will pay for regional flight costs and not for international flights.

As part of a regional traffic promotion plan, the

Ministry of transportation

ordered today a reduction of
security rate paid by pbadengers on flights up to 1000 km and an additional reduction for new routes. Thus, those traveling from the various airports in the interior of the country to Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay will see a slight decrease in the final price of their tickets from May 10, when the measure will come into force.

The decision was formalized by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) Resolution 71/2019, published today in

Official newspaper

. As indicated in the text, the security tariff at airports and aerodromes in the country will be set at 10 May for international flights, USD 4.42 for regional flights and USD 20 for cabotage. These are the same values that already apply, but the change concerns the extension of the range of regional flights from 300 to 1,000 kilometers.

Thus, routes such as Cordoba-Santiago, Buenos Aires-Porto Alegre, El Palomar-Punta del Este and Salta-Iquique will be part of the category of regional flights and will pay a rate 56% lower than the current rate.

In addition, ANAC determined that this rate would be reduced by 50% in the first year of regional flights serving routes not overflown by any airline in the last five years. In this case, USD 2.21 per pbadenger on board will be paid instead of USD 4.42. According to the official body, this measure could stimulate the promotion of 47 new roads, such as Resistencia-Antofagasta, Comodoro Rivadavia-Punta Arenas and Salta-La Paz.

"At least 250,000 pbadengers will benefit from 14 routes currently operating in the region, which will encourage the start-up of 47 new routes requested by nine companies in recent years, as they will not only reduce the value of the rate, but also in the first 12 months will pay 50%, "said the Ministry of Transport.

The security rate is one of the various charges added to the base fare available for each airline and which gives the final price that each traveler pays for his ticket and which can increase the final amount up to 50%.
