Tokyo: images of the city that Japan does not want you to see during the Olympics

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games offer a great spectacle to the world, but at the same time hundreds of homeless people are being evicted from the center of the Japanese capital.

This practice is not new: When a country hosts the Games, it often goes to great lengths to clean up and rebuild key parts of the host city. In Tokyo, this means hundreds of homeless people have been evicted from areas near the Olympic stadium, train stations and parks.
