As the search continues off the coast of Tenerife in search of Anna and Tomás Gimeno, all of Spain watch in horror each of the revelations that are uncovered about the details of the life of Tomás Gimeno, the father of Anna and the late Olivia, and his ex-wife Beatriz Zimmermann, mother of the girls, from whom he separated more than a year ago after meeting as a teenager to end up living a tumultuous bourgeois romance, full of luxuries, pleasures, hatred and misunderstandings.
Beatriz Zimmermann from Zárate (35) and Tomás Gimeno Casañas (37) come from two wealthy families on the island of Tenerife. They met at the age of 15 and their days were spent between golf, tennis, water sports, the best restaurants, trips and million dollar country mansions.
At 20, they were already in a relationship. And since then, and until the epilogue of the story, the day of the discovery of the body of little Olivia at a depth of 1000 meters, the relationship between them was marked by narcissism and the ego of Gimeno, who has always sought to impose himself on women.
Tomás Gimeno and his daughters Anna and Olivia have been missing since April 27, 2020
In summary, one could say that Tomás Gimeno was a song with egocentricity and over the years, his contempt for Beatriz grew. He only cared about himself, his luxuries, his outings and his pretensions, which were none other than have a good time with friends and other women whatever the consequences or by assuming your own responsibilities. Beatriz got bored of all this in the summer of 2020 and decided to separate in the middle of pregnancy from Anna, the little girl still wanted by the Spanish Civil Guard. Gimeno never forgave him and that started the tragedy.
To make matters worse, a month after evicting him from her home, the woman started a relationship with the Belgian businessman Eric Domb. This drop overflowed the mental glass of a ya Gimeno upset.
Gimeno’s adult life was a constant shift between paddle board games, go-kart races in the south of the island, sailing his boat and jet skis with friends. i never work because he came from a very traditional family from Tenerife, led by his father, of the same name, who devoted himself to the agricultural activity, in particular the banana and cactus plantation. This is why he had little interest in progressing: everything came from above.

His mother “Had a very striking beauty”, according to a family friend tells the site El Español. “She won beauty contests,” she adds. The children of this marriage were Monica, a prestigious lawyer with her own law firm, and María Dolores, director of communications and institutional relations at Cajamar. In short: Tomás Gimeno was the family stray sheep, the guy who lived at the expense of others, a spoiled.
“He had a bad temper, we often saw them arguing in Germanthat’s what they were talking about, ”José, a 60-year-old employee who does maintenance work in the residential area where Tomás’ house is located, told the El Español site. According to other accounts, Gimeno was a night wolf, a character well known in all the nightclubs of Tenerife. It was him and only him. Beatriz, submissive, lived in his shadow and at the same time spent hours accumulating bad feelings.
Beatriz Zimmermann knew all of this. Small town, big hell, as the saying goes. And Santa Cruz, where they lived, is a town of 222,000 inhabitants, with a very small circle of wealthy people, in which everyone knows everything. Beatriz knew parties, drugs, other women with which Gimeno walked on the island. For years,. she only lived to swallow poison and spit out pain.
Tomás Gimeno and his daughters Anna and Olivia, protagonists of a drama that will mark a before and after in Spain.
Tomás had his life ruled, feeding off his father’s businesses. Everything was as he wanted it, until Beatriz got tired. Then, the imposing balance of the couple jumped in the air because of the woman’s determined attitude to end this infamy.
This Saturday, the oceanographic vessel Ángeles Alvariño returned to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for technical reasons. The ship continues the search for little Anna and her father Tomás Gimeno, after finding the body of her sister Olivia, 6, at a depth of 1,000 meters on Thursday afternoon. Photo: EFE
There is one fact that was known at that time, and it is the first relationship between Tomás Gimeno and the death of a son. On August 12, 2018, the couple suffered a serious setback: her first baby, named Tom, died within hours of being born. As explained by Telemadrid, Tomás was most affected by this loss.
The separation and the beating of Eric Domb
Machista, a regular at night and tasked with complaints of alleged business crimes and other issues that prolong his messy life, Tomás Gimeno has found no better way to get revenge on his wife than by killing his two daughters. I was jealous of the relationship that she had – after the separation – with the Belgian businessman Eric Domb, 60 years old, 26 years her senior.

Business and chance made Tomás Gimeno and Eric Domb meet in a business transaction: Eric owns the exotic plant sales company Tropical Fruit SL and bought the land from Tomás to start his plantation. This is where I would have met Beatriz. When they started dating, Tomás didn’t accept it. He couldn’t stand it. “I don’t want this old man to take care of my daughters,” Tomás said, according to surveys.
Jealousy and unhealthy violence
As the site rebuilt SpanishTomás was possessed by unhealthy jealousy and hostility towards Beatriz as his relationship with the Belgian led him to exercise physical violence.
It was on August 30, 2020 that Tomás discovered the new couple and their two daughters in a restaurant. He waited for them in the parking lot with a stick in his hand and pounced on his ex-wife’s new partner, repeatedly hitting the Belgian. Beatriz tried to prevent the attack, but Tomás attacked her and dragged her to the ground, grabbing her hair. Anna and Olivia were present. The cause of the assault, for him, was that Eric had gone out to eat with his daughters.
Occasional witnesses who saw the scene called the Civil Guard. Tomás, however, had already disappeared from the place and Beatriz and Eric did not want to press charges. For Beatriz it was important not to oppose Tomás more, for the sake of the girls. “He’s a good father,” he said in the last few weeks of an agonizing search, as if he wanted him to reconsider, when he still believed it was a desperate escape motivated by resentment.

Months after that first incident, in December, there was another clash. Tomás seriously insulted Beatriz. So, she went to the Civil Guard police station, but ultimately decided not to report it, for the same reason as the first time. This would have caused the arrest of Tomás and, for her, that the situation worsens. The agents, however, were alerted and followed Tomás’ movements. A little later, they became interested in the evolution of the relationship, calling Beatriz, who gave no new alarm signal, specifies the site. Spanish.
Life before the worst end
According to journalistic surveys, between summer 2020 and spring 2021, Beatriz consolidated her relationship with Eric, who appointed her to head her company. Without formal separation and without a visiting regime, Tomás saw his daughters on different days after a verbal agreement with Beatriz. Olivia was going to tennis lessons and hadn’t started school yet. Little Anna was barely going through her first months.
Beatriz lived in Eric’s house, while Tomás lived on the farm where they lived their last years of relationship, in Igueste de Candelaria, 15 minutes south of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
It was there, presumably, that he put the two little girls to sleep with drugs, then suffocated them and threw them into the sea inside two sports bags attached to the anchor of his boat.
