Tonight more AstraZeneca vaccines will arrive and Argentina will reach 70 million doses

A new game with 1,673,000 AstraZeneca vaccines will arrive this Saturday from Mexico City to Argentina and, in this way, the country will have received more than 70 million doses against the coronavirus from different laboratories since the start of the pandemic.

According to official sources, the new batch will arrive around 21.10 at Ezeiza international airport on board of Flight of the airline Aeroméxico AM0030.

Therefore, between Saturday, September 25 and October 2, 4,644,990 vaccines will have arrived in the country to continue the campaign to vaccinate the population against COVID-19.

This number is made up of the lot that will arrive today and the 1,440,000 doses of Sinopharm arrivals last Saturday; 549,600 from AstraZeneca donated by Canada which arrived on Monday; Pfizer 160,290 which touched Argentine soil on Wednesday; and AstraZeneca’s latest 822,100 which happened recently, also as part of the bilateral agreement with the AstraZeneca laboratory. This Saturday’s expedition is part of the bilateral agreement for the production of the active ingredient in the national territory and of the latter formulated and packaged on Mexican lands.

On the other hand, a few days ago the government confirmed that it will buy 20 million more from the vaccine from the scientific couple Pfizer-Biontech and 20 million more from the Moderna vaccine, with inoculants that work with the messenger RNA platform.

State authorities, represented by the Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Gustavo Beliz, and the World Bank, for Jordan schwartz, accelerated negotiations to move forward with the granting of a loan of several million dollars to finance the acquisition of these doses.

In both cases, Pfizer and Moderna received corresponding approvals from top international regulators (for emergency use), the North American FDA and the European EMA to apply the vaccine to adolescents aged 17. at the age of 12. And the approval of 12 to 5 years is expected soon.

For now, for minors, the government has started using the Sinopharm vaccine of Chinese origin, it works with the most traditional platform of all the options against COVID-19 that are already inoculated around the world.

This formula has already been applied to more than 500 million children and adolescents in China, bringing an individual benefit, but fundamentally social because vaccinations in minors have a direct impact on the reduction of transmission, since they help to achieve the desired goals collective immunity.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health reported this Friday, October 1 that over the past 24 hours, 46 deaths and 1,564 new coronavirus infections have been recorded. With these data, the country has accumulated a total of 5,258,466 positive cases since the start of the pandemic, while the deaths are 115,225.
