Toyota confirmed to Macri that it would move a region into the country and create new jobs

Toyota will transfer to Argentina the operations of its Division for Latin America and the Caribbean (LACD) and will generate New jobs in the country.

This has been confirmed at Mauricio Macri the owner of the car manufacturer, Takeshi Uchiyamada, at a meeting held Friday with the Minister of Production and Labor Dante Sica, in the presidential residence of Olivos.

The CEO of the company for Latin America and the Caribbean also participated, Masahiro Inoueand the owner of the Toyota Argentina, Daniel Herrero.

The new Argentina-based Toyota office will coordinate the operations of 37 independent distributors that the company owns in 36 countries in the region, as officially stated.

The decision to transfer certain functions from Tokyo to its plant in Zárate, Buenos Aires province, will allow the incorporation of more staff and encourage the development of Argentinian professionals.

Uchiyamada highlighted President Macri's "strong leadership" for the measures taken by the government in favor of wider trade openness and thanked him for the incentive policies applied to the development of endowed vehicles new technologies.

Toyota has been present in the Latin America and Caribbean region for 66 years, with a presence in 39 countries and four vehicle production plants, two auto parts plants and a training center.
