Destroyed was the Toyota Hilux truck in which the people of San Juan traveled. Apparently, they were traveling at high speed, they returned to La Pampa and it was the end of three of them.

A few hours before leaving, some who had said that they were going out went out unexpectedly. What they had organized for a few weeks seemed to have fallen. But the desire to spend a nice weekend fishing at Laguna Chasicó (about 80 kilometers from Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires) could be more and the trip came afloat with five adventurers. In a few hours, Luis Alberto "Quito" Martinez (78), Ricardo Mercado (50), Adrián Dominici (31) and Antonio Ponce (53) and his nephew Cristian (27) reorganized everything and at 20, they left Chimbas in the Toyota Hilux van of the Mercado

It is expected that the bodies of the three victims will be moved today to San Juan

But the moments of pleasure and happiness that they had planned turned into tragedy and tears before reaching the destination. It was about 2:45 yesterday, when they traveled from west to east on National Highway 188, a few meters from the entrance to the city of Rancul, located in the northern part of La Pampa. According to police sources in this province, everything indicates that Mercado rolled at high speed, lost control of the vehicle and bit the shoulder, which caused the truck to fall several times until it stopped. it is destroyed on the right side of the road. "They were not going to do at least 180 kilometers at the hour," says one parent of one of the survivors using what he had told him himself.

Apparently, they were going so fast that in the wheels, the Hilux turned over a road sign. The five occupants were trapped between the irons, and three of them died: former MP Martínez (see page 19), Mercado and Antonio Ponce.

Chance difference, almost miraculously, ran the other two. Cristian Ponce was slightly injured and was treated at Realicó Hospital. For his part, Dominici was transferred to the Pico General Hospital with several breaks, but he was out of danger, according to police sources.

Yesterday, in the families of victims, all was pain, tears and confusion
