A group of young people chased and killed a yacare in Tucumán. The fact, which induces outrage in the province, happened in a lagoon near Santa Barbara, near the provincial capital, according to the information
Local media El Tribuno

In the last hours images and videos of the incident have been viralized in social networks. The yacaré, as we can see in the visual documents, is more than two meters long.

This is not the first time that a yacare appears in the area. In 2015, a fisherman warned of the presence of two specimens in the southern part of the province, to the point where the Marapa River flows into El Frontal.

Yacaré is not a native species of Tucumán. Years ago, the Tucumán Natural Resources Department asked neighbors to report the presence of these animals to start controlling them.

According to El Tribuno, it is suspected that it is a businessman from the city of Bella Vista who introduced a group of yacarés to Tucumán, to set up a hatchery. The reptiles would have escaped through the rivers of the region and began to breed.
