Turkish authorities are investigating the appearance of a mysterious monolith in southeastern Turkey.
A farmer found the metal block in Sanliurfa province on Friday with an old Turkish text that reads: “Look at the sky, look at the moon.”
The 3-meter-high monolith was discovered near the Unesco World Heritage Site Gobekli Tepe, which has megalithic structures dating back to the 10th millennium BC, thousands of years older than Stonehenge.
Authorities are reviewing videos from security cameras and investigating vehicles that may have transported the monolith, Turkish press reported on Sunday.
In recent months, other mysterious monoliths have appeared, and some have disappeared, in various countries.
