Two men were executed in Yemen for mistreating and killing a 12-year-old boy

It was in Yemen, in a public square. A woman who helped to skin the body of the victim was also sentenced: why has she still not been executed?

Wadah Refat and Mohamed Khaled were executed in a public square in Aden, Yemen, after kidnapping, raping and murdering a child under 12 years old. The execution took place on a public square in the port city, in front of the sight of hundreds of people gathered to witness the execution of the sentence.

In May 2018, Mohamed Saad was intercepted by the men while he was playing in his neighborhood. The baby was dragged to a house where he was raped and killed with a knife.

The authorities also sentenced a woman who had helped to skin the victim, although her execution was postponed because of her maternity and that it occurred at the end of the badfeeding period.

Yemen is one of the countries in the world where the rate of execution per capita is highest, where many crimes are punishable by death. Executions are only carried out in public places in cases where the crime affects the feelings of the public, as in the case of rape of children.
