Two pit bulls killed a 3-year-old boy

A 3-year-old boy has died in the United States after falling from a window at his family’s house and being fiercely attacked by pit bulls in the back yard of the house.

The incident happened last Thursday at Elizabeth, New Jersey, when the boy fell from a window, he landed in the back yard of the house and was attacked by the two family dogs, according to ABC.

Neighbors say the mother reacted immediately, ran to save her son and was “A horrible scene” while trying to keep the dogs away from the victim.

“I saw the mother, she was full of blood on her hands, her shirt,” neighbor María Rocha told WABC in an interview after the attack. “And I was like ‘what happened?’ I came here because it was full of cops and she said to me: “My baby, my baby, I went to the bathroom and my baby fell out the window”“.

The boy was rushed to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Acting Union County lawyer Lyndsay Ruotolo, Police Chief Elizabeth Giacomo Sacca and Police Director Earl Graves said the circumstances of the incident were under investigation and that no charges have been laid yet.

Witnesses said that the pit bulls were quite aggressive and the yard the boy fell into was full of dog feces, motorcycles, power tools and debris. “Every time I passed the dogs barked,” he said. WABC another neighbor, Angela Pérez. “You could tell they were aggressive.”

Local animal control intervened at the scene after the test, secured the dogs and transported them to another location. They were apparently euthanized.

The neighbors say they are shocked. “I spoke to the uncle and he told me the dogs grabbed his neck. He managed to push the boy, but the dogs still held his legs, ”Rocha described. “They killed the child at this exact moment.”

“I haven’t slept all night,” Rocha continued. “My heart is broken. I haven’t slept all night. I can’t believe this happened to a 3 year old. It’s a baby. It could be mine, it could be someone else Is it a baby and did the dogs kill it?

Authorities are still investigating the incident and urging anyone with information relating to the matter to contact detectives.
