Two teenagers tortured and killed a classmate because she was "too attractive"

The abandoned body of a 17-year-old girl was found on a construction site in the Russian city of Archangel. The victim, Vika Averina, had signs of being tortured, strangled and disfigured with pieces of glbad.

Initially, the local police thought that a man was behind the crime, but with the conduct of the investigation, two young men, aged 16 years each, were arrested. The suspects, identified by the police as being Lina and IrinaThey knew the victim because they were clbadmates.

The three young women studied at the same school in Arkhangelsk, however, Vika was gone "to start a university course as a chef's apprentice." According to the newspaper Mirror, the detainees said in their statement that the victim "was arrogant for his shiny and attractive face". In addition, they said that the girl intimidated because "she was prettier" than them.

The defendants could not keep certain parts of their story and finally confessed to the crime. According to the reenactment of events, Lina and Irina cheated on Vika and took her to a construction site. There, one of them took a bottle and broke it in the head. With the pieces of glbad left on the floor, they disfigured and finally strangled.

"Vika was a beautiful girl, but we never thought it could be a reason for the murder," said a friend of the young woman, in dialogue with the local media. People accused of the crime could be sentenced 15 years in prison.
