It all began on April 18, 2018. Melvin Gregorio Farías Gutiérrez He was executive director of the jewelery "Centro San Ignacio" in Caracas. Almost at 4:30 pm, Gerardo Rojas Gutiérrez, junior employee, entered the jewels when Sergio Sánchez stuck him against the facade of the commercial premises by pointing him with a weapon that he blocked when he shot, which allowed Junior to fire his gun. After 45 days of the investigation phase, Prosecutor's Office 59 of the Metropolitan Region of Caracas requested that the case of Melvin Farías Gutiérrez be closed and a precautionary measure replace the deprivation of liberty. On the day of the hearing, Judge Villanueva Peralta stated that she was feeling sick and that she had withdrawn without worrying about the situation of the two detainees. On August 10, he declared that the hearing would take place on August 20, with a flagrant procedural delay to the detriment of Farías Gutiérrez and Rojas Gutiérrez.
