“Several victims, including a police officer,” were recorded on Monday during a mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado. This was reported by the State City Police Department in a post on its Twitter account. The main suspect was injured and is in detention while receiving treatment.
A few hours earlier, security forces had moved near the King Soopers supermarket in the presence of an active shooter.

Television footage showed a shirtless man leaving the supermarket escorted by security forces with one leg covered in blood. He was then put in an ambulance. It was not clear if he was a suspect in the shooting.
In dialogue with local television CBSN Denver, a person inside the supermarket described the situation: “I went to buy a soda and fries and at one point I heard a loud explosion. I thought someone had dropped something but by the third explosion everyone was running. We got to the back of the supermarket and walked out through the loading area, then jumped under one of the freight trucks. Then we rolled down a hill, ”he said.
In footage, the authenticity of which has not been confirmed by authorities, at least three bodies are seen lying on the ground, in and around the supermarket, as gunshots are heard.
Two other witnesses told the local Denver Post they were about to leave the supermarket when the gunman opened fire: “He didn’t say anything,” said one of them, who preferred to keep anonymity: “He just walked in and started shooting.” “He fired a few shots, then was silent, then he fired a few more. I was not firing gusts “another said.
Later, customers who had been taken to safety outside the store sat wrapped in blankets and talked to rescuers.
Broken windows were visible on the front of the store. Through a loudspeaker, authorities said the building was surrounded. They asked the perpetrator to come out unarmed and with his hands up.
State Governor Jared Polis spoke of the situation. “Like everyone at Coloradans, I follow the situation closely at King Soopers. My prayers are with the people of the state during this time of sadness and mourning as we learn of the magnitude of the tragedy, ”he said.
