Unrest in England: Police officer kidnapped woman for breaking quarantine for COVID then killed her

The case of Sara Everard, the woman who was killed by a police officer in the UK who arrested her for breaking a bogus quarantine rule, then raped and killed her, has England in shock as more terrifying details emerge.

At the last court hearing, it was learned, for example, that Sarah had been handcuffed by her killer, who intended to arrest him for allegedly violating anti-COVID regulations.

The police officer met Wayne Couzens was responsible for the removal and murder of the 33-year-old woman he arrested as he walked home from a friend’s house on March 3.

Couzens showed his authorization card before immobilizing Everard, 33, put it in his rental car and drove away.

His sentencing hearing in Old Bailey Court was told his ordeal could boil down to “Deception, kidnapping, rape, strangulation, arson.”

The 48-year-old had worked on COVID patrols in January, so he would have known the proper formal conditions regarding possible infractions. The entire abduction lasted less than five minutes.

Everard was handcuffed at 9:34 p.m. and four minutes later she was taken to Dover, where Couzens transferred her to her own car.

Couzens then went to a remote rural area that he knew well, where he raped Everard. The sexual predator had logged off from a 12 hour shift that morning.

Prosecutor Tom Little said Couzens must have taken Everard’s cell phone and taking the SIM card, which he tried to destroy.

Everard was described in court by a longtime ex-boyfriend as “Extremely intelligent, intelligent and cunning” and “not a naive person”.

The kidnapping was seen by a couple traveling by car, but “They assumed Everard must have done something wrong”they told the court.

One of the witnesses described a woman on the sidewalk who appeared to have her left arm behind her back and “I was putting my other arm behind his back” while a man dressed in black handcuffed her.

Little said they believed they were witnesses an undercover policeman arrests a woman.

The exact time Sarah was killed could not be determined, when she was dead, strangled with Couzens’ police belt, around 2:30 a.m. on March 4, as he stopped to snack at a gas station.

A week after her disappearance, Sarah’s body was found in a stream in a forest in Ashford, Kent (England) a few meters from land belonging to Couzens.

The policeman was separated from the force in July, after the case gained national notoriety, prompting waves of protests women in various places in the UK. That same month, Couzens pleaded guilty.

Depending on what happened in the local media, the judge in the case will consider the possibility of issuing a life sentence against a former police officer.
