Unstoppable insecurity in Mexico: car theft increased by 35%

According to the newspaper Reform, this crime is considered by the authorities as the main indicator of security, because it misses a black figure, that is to say that all the victims signal it start with the insurance procedures and establish a demarcation in case the unit is used for illicit purposes.

Between January and March last year they opened 2,000,603 cases of research, but in the same period of this year 3 thousand 532 were recorded the complaints for auto theft.

The Mexican newspaper explained that investigations, 1770 were robberies of private cars without violence and 709 with violence.

There are also figures on theft of other vehicles. During the first quarter of the year, 209 and 266 complaints were recorded for motorcycle theft with and without violence, respectively; as well as 196 for the theft of vehicles used to transport pbadengers, official vehicles and even machinery.

Iztapalapa, Benito Juárez and University City top the list of insecurity

According to the figures of Open Data Portal, at the mayor's office Iztapalapa, located east of Mexico City, is where car thefts are most often committed. In this place they represented
674 cases.

They follow him Gustavo A. Madero, north of the city, with 452 inhabitants, and Benito Juarez with 278.

The office of the latter mayor, located in the center of the country's capital, has two problematic neighborhoods: Narvarte with 40 car thefts and Del Valle Centro with 36 complaints. The most conflicting streets are: Obrero Mundial, Diagonal San Antonio, Torres Adalid and San Lorenzo.

Among the five most affected colonies, there is also agriculture of the Orient with 62, in Iztacalco; Roma Norte with 33, in Cuauhtémoc and Quetzalcóatl urban development with 31, in Iztapalapa. In the first case, flights are committed on Avenida Sur 12 and Calle Sur 20.
