US accused Russia of spreading vaccine misinformation and endangering people: “They’re using their old stuff”

The US State Department has targeted Russia to “endanger” people by “spreading misinformation about vaccines that we know save lives every day.”

Department spokesman Ned Price referred to a question regarding a report published in the Wall Street newspaper who reported on an alleged Russian disinformation campaign against American vaccines, including that of Pfizer.

In this sense, Price argued that the US Center for Global Engagement has identified “four Russian online platforms operated by Russian intelligence services and disseminating disinformation.”

In addition, he added that these sites include “misinformation about two of the vaccines that have so far been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)“. So far, the agency has given the green light to Pfizer, Moderna and recently Johnson & Johnson formulas.

“It is very clear that Russia has started using its old tricks again and in doing so is potentially endangering people by spreading misinformation about vaccines that we know save lives every day.»Warned the spokesperson.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki also referred to this “disinformation campaign” during Monday’s press conference, to reiterate that The United States will fight “with all the tools” at its disposal against disinformation. “We are aware of it, we are monitoring it and we are taking measures to resolve it,” he said.
