US urges all countries not to carry out financial transactions with the Maduro government – 26/01/2019

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday called on all UN puts an end to its financial transactions with the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, which Washington considers illegitimate.

Pompeo called on all countries to follow the American example and to recognize the opposition Juan Guaidó as interim president of Venezuela. During his speech at the special Security Council meeting on the Venezuelan crisis, Pompeo called on all countries of the world to join the "forces of freedom" to support the Guaidó opposition, encouraged by more European support in addition firm and growing isolation of Russia, which defends President Nicolás Maduro.
