USA A Boeing 737 MAX landed in case of emergency due to engine problems

The US Southwest Boeing 737 MAX, which was heading to California, presented an engine problem that forced it to land in emergency in Orlando, Florida (southeast), announced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

"The plane turned around and landed in Orlando, safely," the FAA said. No pbadengers were on board the plane, which was taken to Victorville, California, to be parked there.

The state agency responsible for controlling air transport announced the opening of an investigation into what had happened.

The FAA has banned the theft of all Boeing 737 MAXs after two fatal accidents in the last month that killed 346 people, but it has allowed this type of transfer from one airport to another.

Southwest said the plane had an engine problem "shortly after takeoff".

"The crew followed the protocol and landed at the airport safely" shortly before 3 pm local time (7 pm GMT), a spokesman said, stating that the plane would be sent to its maintenance facility in Orlando for technical review.

This incident is a new blow for the Boeing 737 MAX after the two fatal accidents it has recently held.
