Their naked and beaten bodies were found face down in a forest five days after their disappearance.
Many heinous murders
The killer, for other homicides, was sentenced to life in prison in 1981.
Cottingham claims to have committed up to 100 murders. So far, it has only been linked to eleven cases, including the 1974 double homicide. However, the death toll of the inmate is believed to be higher.
Cottingham is called “Torso killer” (Torso killer, in Spanish) because he used to dismember his victims, cutting off their limbs and their heads.
