Venezuela: Allied court in Maduro will prosecute MPs who supported Guaidó rebellion

A week after the military uprising in Venezuela, led by opposition leaders Juan Guaidó and Leopoldo López, justice close to Chavez will act against the deputies that he accuses of having organized a coup d'etat and "treason to the fatherland".

The National Constituent Assembly (NCA), composed only of government representatives and not recognized by many countries, he has immunity to seven opposition lawmakers, following a request from the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

The decision fell on the first vice-president of the National Assembly (NA, Parliament), Edgar Zambrano; former Speaker of the Legislature, Henry Ramos Allup; and legislators Richard Blanco, from Alianza Bravo Pueblo (ABP); Luis Florido, independent; Américo de Grazia and Mariela Magallanes of La Causa R; and Simón Calzadilla of the Progressive Movement (MPV).

The president of the Bolivarian parliamentary body, Diosdado Cabello, badured that they identified three other deputies They allegedly intervened in the plot that they denounced, although they did not give their names. They expect to withdraw their immunity in the next few days.

Two hours before the constituent's session, the court issued a statement in which, in response to a request by the Attorney General, Tarek Saab, that the deputies were responsible "in the blatant commission" for several crimes: "They committed treason against the homeland, a conspiracy, an instigation to the insurgency, civil rebellion, conspiracy to commit a crime, usurpation of office, public incitement to disobedience of laws and persistent hatred ".

Faced with this, Parliament, by an overwhelming majority of the opposition, decided on Tuesday "to ignore the acts of the organs of public power that pretend to violate parliamentary immunity deputies of the National Assembly ".
