In a statement posted on its Twitter account, the government warned that "to tolerate or promote any threat or intimidation against Venezuelan diplomatic agents by citizens residing in the United States is a very serious violation of the international obligations of the US Government. United".

They also reaffirmed that the diplomatic headquarters should only be used by officially appointed diplomatic agents representing the democratic government of President Nicolás Maduro.

In this regard, they asked the US authorities "to respect their legal obligations and to take the necessary measures to immediately cancel this de facto and forced occupation".

In the event that the United States Government continues to violate its international obligations, Venezuela "reserves the corresponding legal and reciprocal decisions and actions on its territory," the text says.

On Monday, the "ambbadador" appointed by Venezuela's self-styled president, Juan Guaidó, for the United States, Carlos Vecchio, announced that he had taken control of three diplomatic offices in the country.
