In a new action against the Venezuelan opposition, the Chavista Contraloría prevented Thursday Juan Guaidó from holding a public position for 15 years. A few minutes after the announcement, the acting president expressed himself in this regard and ignored the disqualification.

The body decided to "disable for the exercise of any public office the citizen (Juan Guaidó) for the maximum period set by law," said Amoroso earlier, via government television.

The regime of Nicolás Maduro accuses Guaidó of corruption because of opposition trips in recent weeks and usurpation of officials.

"He made 91 trips abroad without the authorization of the NA for an amount of 570 million bolivars that he can not justify with his salary as an official," said Amoroso.

Chavez's official pointed out that the head of Parliament, with a majority of opposition, was 248 days away from the country.

"It is presumed that he had falsified data in his statement and received money from international bodies, without notification," he added.

Amoroso also accused Guaidó of "usurping public office": "He has usurped public office and committed acts with foreign governments that have harmed Venezuela's population and national heritage."

The data controller announced that the Chavez authorities would continue to investigate alleged cases of corruption and asked the National Integrated Service of the Customs and Tax Administration (Seniat) to control the hotels in which the president Acting had stayed.

"They dusted this man to scare the hotels we are staying in," Guaidó said at a rally.

The Controller announced on February 11 the opening of an investigation against Guaidó for receiving international funding.

After the announcement of Amoroso, the entity asked the prosecution "to exercise the corresponding actions".

The controller is the entity that monitors the behavior of state servers in Venezuela and has the power to sanction them with fines or disqualify them.

In the context of the persecution of the Chavez regime against the opposition, other leaders, such as the former presidential candidate, Henrique Capriles, were also subjected to similar measures, which prevented them from standing for election.
