A helicopter from the Venezuelan army it's crashed this Saturday in the suburbs of Caracas for unknown reasons and his seven crew members died.

The accident occurred in the El Volcán area, municipality of El Hatillo, in the state of Miranda, near Caracas, local media reported.

The aircraft type Cougar 59580, belonging to the Venezuelan aviation, flew to San Carlos, in the state of Cojedes, in the center of the country, from where the President Nicolás Maduro led the military maneuvers.

According to information in the helicopter logs, three crew members and four pbadengers were identified: Commander Alexis Alejandro Avila Guerrero, Captain Carlos Ramírez Dávila, Commander Jacinto Rengifo Rodríguez, Lieutenant-General Colonel Tomás Ortega Valero.

Captain César Barreto, Captain Felipe Amaya and Lieutenant-Colonel José Betancourt have also traveled, according to reports.

Earlier, the mayor of this city, Elias Sayegh, had confirmed the collapse of the army helicopter with the seven members of the crew.
