Venezuelan Juan Guaidó meets Mauricio Macri – 01/03/2019

Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly of Venezuela and recognized by Argentina as interim president of this country, will meet this Friday in Buenos Aires President Mauricio Macri. Guaidó will arrive in the country at 17:30.

The Argentine president was among the first to recognize the president of the Venezuelan National Assembly when he proclaimed himself "president in charge" of his country on 23 January.

Macri no longer recognizes the regime of Nicolás Maduro, which he again criticized this Friday in his inaugural address to Congress.

According to diplomatic sources, this confirmation would have been made Friday during a dialogue between the secretary for strategic affairs of the presidency, Fulvio Pompeo, and the representative of Guaidó in Argentina, Elisa Trotta.
