"Yesterday, as a result of a change in the configuration of a server, many people have had problems accessing our applications and services," the company said. Interestingly, the statement was published via Twitter.

"We have already solved the problems and our systems are recovering, we are sorry for the inconvenience and we appreciate everyone's patience," they added to Facebook.

This Wednesday, the Instagram and Facebook platforms have had failures around the world. The problem lasted until 5:00 GMT Thursday, when Instagram, without giving further details, reported via Twitter that it had been resolved.
